The role of an academic, apart from research, is to guide a student to a positive path of enlightment and life-long learning. Each path is different and so is each student. Follow your passions. Explore your options. Do not be afraid to fail or take chances. Celebrate the journeys of not only successful graduates, but all those students who you have influenced.
Principles
My lecturing follows a set of basic principles encapsulated by my 9E's (ease) Learning model: Enable, Enlighten, Evolve, Enrich, Everywhere, Entertain, Encourage. Everyone & Empower.
Experience
I have been an academic for close to 20 years. I have lectured in a wide range of IT-related units and degrees. I have supervised students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I have lectured extensively in China. I have held numerous leadership roles within the university sector.
